Christopher A. Jones, DrPH, MHA serves as Assistant Director for Informatics and Quality at the Northwest Area Health Education Center (NW AHEC), Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in Parks and Recreation at the University of Utah. He earned a Masters in Healthcare Administration at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Jones conferred his Doctorate in Public Health degree in May 2016 from UNC Gillings. Dr. Jones’s research interest is in reducing workplace sedentary behavior to promote employee health. He is the Co-PI on a study investigating the feasibility of activity trackers and active workstations to promote non-sedentary behavior in the workplace at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Mr. Jones founded and manages daily operations in a Healthcare Technology Outreach and Education Center at the NW AHEC. His team provides technical support and quality improvement facilitation to over 100 primary care practices in seventeen-counties of Northwest North Carolina. Mr. Jones also manages the technical operations of a continuing health education center serving over 30,000 health professionals. At NW AHEC, Chris facilitated the creation of an electronic curriculum providing over 400 online courses used by more than 15,000 regional health care professionals to earn accredited CE. In his free time Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, building custom arcade machines, distance running and cooking.
