I've been an AHEC Center Director since September 2014. Prior to that, I did workforce development for Idaho's Primary Care Association for 10 years. Idaho is a large, very rural, and relatively sparsely populated state. Currently, Idaho AHEC is a contract center with the University of Washington's WWAMI AHEC and I'm the only Idaho AHEC employee at 75% FTE. . Although we have a fantastic relationship with our current program office, Idaho is looking toward submitting a proposal for an infrastructure grant (with UW's blessing) when the new FOA comes out so that we can increase the number of centers in Idaho and broaden AHEC's service capacity in the state. I'd love to talk with other center and program director's about partnering with multiple academic programs, best practices, and lessons learned along the way.
