As Director of Evaluation for NYS AHEC System, I oversee statewide evaluation efforts including measuring whether programs are successfully increasing the number of students from minority or disadvantaged backgrounds that are entering the health care workforce. I also serve as the Lead Evaluator for The National Center for Physician Training in Addiction Medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo’s Department of Family Medicine (University at Buffalo), where I evaluate the effectiveness of the education and training of physicians in addiction medicine. I also serve as a Research Assistant Professor in the University at Buffalo Primary Care Research Institute in the UB Department of Family Medicine. I am the Co-Principal Investigator on a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) titled “Western New York Genetics in Research Partnership “and also a Co-Investigator on a National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) grant titled “Western New York Genetics in Research Partnership: Expanding Exposure, Career Exploration and Interactive Projects in Basic Genome Analysis and Bioinformatics.”
