Dr. Deborah Stier Carson is the recently retired Associate Program Director for Education, South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium. She first joined SC AHEC in October 2003, as the Program Manager on a HRSA grant for the training of community health care professionals in disaster preparedness. She is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and received her undergraduate degree in Pharmacy in 1976 from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Pharmacy and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the same institution in 1982. She was on the faculty of the MUSC College of Pharmacy for 25 years and retired as a Professor Emerita in 2002. She has a strong interest in inter-professional training and collaborative inter-professional delivery of healthcare and will continue to work on the comic book health information literacy project next year.
